Not allowed for posting

(extract form the Regulation for postal services, approved by the Directive of CMU of 17.08.2002. No.1155)

Not allowed for domestic posting:

• all types of fire arms and ammunition (other than damaged parts of fire arms, sent by the hunter's and fisherman's stores on the address of the manufacturer or repairing shops, or sent by these manufacturers or repairing shops on the address of the corresponding hunter's and fisherman's stores and Hunters and Fishermen Society Administration)
• all types cold steel;
• explosives and flammable substances;
• narcotics; psychotropic items, their analogues and precursors included in the list of the Committee on the control over narcotics and psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors, and which are subject for a special control as per the Ukrainian law;
• toxins and radioactive substances; mercury; acids; mineral fertilizers and other toxic and caustic substances;
• Ukrainian and foreign currency (apart from numismatic collections);
• poisonous plants and animals;
• perishables (raw - meat, fish, poultry, eggs, milk, by-products, meat, fish, poultry, eggs, milk products with expiry time below 72 hours; or products with expiry dates below 10 days).

In the regions where a special quarantine regulations in consideration with plants and animals have been announced by the governmental inspection, the posting of vegetables, fruit, seeds, plants, ready made food stuff of animal origin may also be limited or forbidden. The corresponding information about this is available in the operative hall of the mail service office.

Not allowed for international posting

The international postings are not allowed to contain the following:

• fire arms and cold steel, other weapon (defensive and offensive like brass knuckles, stilettos, nerve gas cylinders), explosives, flammable and other alike items, military equipment if otherwise is allowed by the law;
• narcotics, psychotropic items, their analogues and precursors included in the list by the Committee on the control over narcotics and psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors, and which are subject for a special control as per the Ukrainian law; radioactive substances;
• pornographic and vulgar materials;
• weapon licenses, work record books, military IDs, passports and other ID cards;
• goods exported in violation of the incorporeal rights;
• items representing the national, historical or cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people, which are determined in accordance with the Ukrainian Law;
• seeds and planting stock (except the ones indicated in Point 44 of the "Regulations of Mail Service Rendering");
• food stuff of animal origin without the termal treatment;
• alive animals (except the bees, leeches, caterpillars of the silkworm, parasites and destroyers of the harmful insects, which are meant for the research of these insects, being exchanged by the official establishments);
• items not allowed to be imported into the countries indicated in the Regulations on the International Postings Acceptance.
